Jono Peters ~ Dope Chef.

Music producer from Western Sydney.
Cooking a different kind of dope in the heavy/alternative scene.

In 1997 I left school at the age of 10 (Long but true story).

I hated school so I refused to go. My older brother had a busted up acoustic guitar that I was drawn to. First time I picked it up I didn’t know what to do, so I just started doing shit till it sounded good. I wrote my first riff.

Fast forward to 2026, that humble start in the suburbs of Western Sydney has led me all over the world. I’ve had the pleasure of working on more projects than I can count.

I started producing my own stuff in 2007. That was my transition out of the drug scene into the heavy music scene in Sydney.

Then, around 2011, I teamed up with Chris Blancato, and we started BearClaw Productions. We worked our fucking asses off for a few years, and then we both decided to solo.

I kept building my portfolio brick by brick. I have now worked on more songs than I can count, written shit you wouldn’t believe, and I suppose it’s been a pretty good run.

From being a homeless junkie to working on award-winning tracks is some crazy contrast.

Spending my days songwriting from such a young age and completely bypassing the schooling system led to an unprecedented amount of creativity, and by 2017, I knew my only path forward would be through business. Started cooking a different kind of dope.

It’s thanks to that crazy ass history that I can channel shit into music in a way that no one else can. As a producer, I just hit different.
